Automation Engineer – Blackpool £38k + Benefits

About the role

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join a forward‑thinking organisation in Blackpool. You will help drive digital transformation by designing, building and maintaining automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and support automated workflows across internal systems.
• Configure and manage data integrations using APIs, connectors and file‑based processes.
• Leverage AI‑enabled technologies such as Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform AI to enhance workflows.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement practical solutions.
• Develop and maintain automated reports, dashboards and data outputs for decision‑making.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and ensure reliability of existing automations.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver improvements.
• Liaise with third‑party suppliers to support integrations and system functionality.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and follow change‑control and data‑security procedures.

Required profile

• Practical experience developing automation solutions using workflows, scripting or RPA platforms.
• Strong understanding of system integrations via APIs, connectors and file‑based exchanges.
• Experience working with business data, reporting tools and SQL databases.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Organised, proactive and capable of working independently as well as within a collaborative team.
