Automation Flow Controller – Morning Shift (6am‑2pm)

About the role

The Automation Flow Controller (AFC) works inside the John Lewis Distribution Centre at Magna Park, ensuring that the extensive conveyor system runs smoothly. You will be responsible for clearing jams, reporting faults and maintaining a continuous flow of totes and cartons during the 6 am‑2 pm shift.

Key responsibilities

• Clear crashes and jams on the conveyor system.
• Listen to and respond to radio requests from the control room.
• Report crashes, faults and any irregularities.
• Handle errors on various pieces of machinery.
• Monitor and report on the flow of containers.
• Perform housekeeping duties to keep the area safe.

Required profile

• Physical ability to climb ladders, use stairs and walk 14 000‑32 000 steps per day.
• Capability to manage frustration and work under pressure.
• Self‑governed with the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Strong situational awareness to spot small changes in flow and potential risks.
• A sense of urgency to respond quickly to incidents.
