Automotive Apprentice – Exeter

About the role

Join Halfords Autocentre in Exeter as an apprentice and gain hands‑on experience working on a wide variety of vehicles. You will split your week between on‑site training and college‑based learning, developing the technical expertise required to become a competent vehicle technician.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with routine servicing, inspections and basic repairs.
• Support more complex tasks such as engine rebuilds and diagnostic investigations.
• Replace parts and resolve faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Collaborate with mentors and colleagues to ensure work meets the highest standards.
• Learn the commercial operation of an Autocentre alongside technical duties.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in automotive technology and a commitment to safety.
• Availability for a 5‑day work week, including one day of college attendance.
