Automotive Buyer - Interior

About the role

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking an Automotive Buyer – Interior to lead end‑to‑end sourcing of interior commodities. You will work within a high‑performing, agile team, collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Legal to drive cost optimisation, quality and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end sourcing across interior commodity categories.
• Negotiate and implement supplier contracts aligned with business goals.
• Develop and execute forward‑thinking commodity strategies to achieve cost savings.
• Lead supplier selection, evaluation and sourcing recommendations.
• Monitor supplier performance against cost, quality, timing and technical targets.
• Act as the primary interface for supplier relationship management.
• Support risk mitigation, total cost analysis and supply‑chain resilience.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to align commercial, technical and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Proven procurement experience in complex manufacturing environments such as automotive, aerospace or mobility.
• Strong background in commodity strategy development and execution.
• Commercially astute with solid cost analysis experience.
• Confident negotiator in technical, fast‑paced settings.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Analytical, detail‑driven and solutions‑focused.
• Clear communicator.
• Degree in Business, Engineering or related field (desirable).
• CIPS qualification or equivalent (advantageous).
