Automotive Learning Coach – HGV & Trailer Training

About the role

The Automotive Learning Coach will join a leading UK apprenticeship provider to deliver hands‑on training for learners studying heavy‑vehicle manufacturing, maintenance and trailer engineering. Based primarily on‑site in Winsford, the role blends classroom instruction with practical workshop support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and assessment for Bus & Coach Engineering Technician and Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician qualifications.
• Provide on‑site coaching for up to 40 apprentices, covering HGV and trailer systems.
• Support learners with practical tasks, safety procedures and engineering theory.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and assessment outcomes.
• Collaborate with the wider training team to develop curriculum and learning resources.

Required profile

• Previous experience in automotive or heavy‑vehicle engineering, preferably with hands‑on work on HGVs and trailers.
• Background in education, teaching or assessment is desirable; teaching/assessor qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate adult learners.
