AV Rack Builder

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AV Rack Builder to join our team in Stevenage. The role involves constructing, testing and commissioning audio‑visual racks for residential, commercial and broadcast projects, both in our workshop and on‑site overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Build and assemble AV racks to specification for a variety of sectors.
• Perform test and commissioning procedures, ensuring full functionality before delivery.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to correctly wire components.
• Travel to client sites, including overseas locations, to install and fine‑tune racks.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment and document build processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience building AV racks.
• Experience in residential, corporate/commercial or pro‑audio broadcast environments.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom and residence in the UK.
• Ability to provide photographic evidence of previous rack builds.

Required skills

• AV rack building and assembly
• Test and commissioning of AV equipment
• Reading wiring diagrams / schematics
• Soldering, crimping and terminating connectors
• Knowledge of CEDIA standards and smart‑home integration (e.g., Lutron programming)
