AVP Private Credit / Direct Lending – London

About the role

Citi is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join its Single Name Private Credit business within the Spread Products team in London. The role focuses on origination, underwriting and ongoing monitoring of private credit transactions, supporting the desk’s P&L and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Originate, credit‑analyse, underwrite and monitor single‑name private credit deals.
• Conduct financial analysis, due‑diligence and projection modelling.
• Structure and draft term sheets for new transactions.
• Collaborate with Private Markets Coverage, ICM, Banking and Risk partners.
• Understand local market nuances, regulations and competitor practices.
• Monitor market movements, analyse trends and assess impact on existing positions and new strategies.
• Manage desk P&L and risk exposure, ensuring limits are respected and issues escalated promptly.

Required profile

• Strong corporate finance background with ability to perform corporate credit analysis.
• Deep understanding of fixed‑income products, including loans and bonds.
• Proficiency in market analysis and risk‑management techniques.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
