Azure Cloud Engineer – 6 Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team for a six‑month contract supporting a core cloud platform in a fast‑paced enterprise IT environment. The role is hybrid, based in the Portsmouth area, and offers the chance to work on multi‑cloud projects and contribute to a wider transformation programme.

Key responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement across platform delivery and operational practices.
• Reduce operational risk for the core cloud platform.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders on demand planning and delivery.
• Provide guidance and best‑practice advice to application teams adopting cloud platforms.
• Manage support tickets, resolve issues and maintain operational commitments.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Azure or AWS and cloud‑native architectures.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC); Terraform experience is a plus.
• Experience building and hardening Windows and RHEL golden images.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with an understanding of operational support processes.
• Effective communication and collaboration across technical teams.
