B1.3 Licensed Engineer – 7 on 7 off

About the role

The B1.3 Licensed Engineer will support the Military Flying Training System (MFTS) at RAF Shawbury, delivering serviceable helicopters for daily flight programmes. Working a 7‑on‑7‑off shift pattern, you will ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance inspections, repairs and certifications on airframe, power‑plant, mechanical, electrical and avionics systems.
• Supervise maintenance fitters and certify their work to meet UK CAA regulations.
• Assist in daily hangar operations, including aircraft movement and housekeeping.
• Ensure compliance with Part 145, Part CAMO and other aviation regulations.

Required profile

• Valid UK CAA Part 66 B1.3 licence (type rating preferred but not essential).
• Working knowledge of UK CAA regulations, engine and airframe systems, and experience in an aviation engineering environment.
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership abilities, with the capacity to work autonomously.

Required skills

• UK CAA Part 66 B1.3 licence.
• Knowledge of Part 145, Part CAMO and UK ANO regulations.
• Understanding of helicopter engine, airframe, mechanical, electrical and avionics systems.
• Familiarity with Airbus EC135 T3H and Airbus BK117 D2 type training (training provided if required).
