Baby & Pre‑School Swimming Teacher (SWIMBiES)

About the role

GLL is seeking enthusiastic Baby & Pre‑School Swimming Teachers to deliver high‑quality swimming lessons for babies and toddlers at Sleaford Leisure Centre and Better Gym Sleaford. The role involves teaching in‑water sessions using the SWIMBiES programme, singing, and creating a safe, fun environment for children and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver baby and pre‑school swimming lessons in line with the SWIMBiES curriculum.
• Lead sessions in the water, following lesson plans and incorporating songs and games.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and centre staff.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable teaching environment.
• Complete necessary administration and record‑keeping for each lesson.

Required profile

• Hold one of the following qualifications: STA Level 2 Award in Baby & Pre‑School Swimming Teacher, Swim England Level 2 Teaching Pre‑School Swimming, or STA Level 3 Diploma in Baby & Pre‑School Swimming Teacher.
• If the above is not held, possess a STA Level 2 Award and be willing to complete the required qualification within six months.
• Experience working with babies, toddlers, and their parents/guardians.
• Understanding of child development related to early swimming lessons.
• Knowledge of appropriate songs and games for baby swimming sessions.
