Backend Developer (Remote, Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our distributed team on a contract basis. You will work remotely, designing and delivering high‑quality backend solutions that power our applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise backend and frontend components using Java, JavaScript and Python.
• Develop and integrate secure RESTful APIs for data exchange across distributed systems.
• Model, query and maintain SQL databases to ensure high‑performance, scalable applications.
• Champion clean‑code practices, write unit tests and manage CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex software and system issues quickly.

Required profile

• Minimum professional experience in software engineering with strong expertise in Java, JavaScript and Python.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures and object‑oriented programming.
• Proficiency with SQL databases, API integrations and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Experience with Git version control and Agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to implement CI/CD processes, unit testing and maintainable code.
