Backend Software Engineer – Control Plane

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the Control Plane team of DDN’s Infinia AI Data Platform. You will help build the core services that enable centralized management, automation and intelligent support for large‑scale hybrid (on‑premise and cloud) AI workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement highly scalable, high‑performance distributed backend services for the platform control plane.
• Develop and evolve API frameworks (REST, gRPC) for centralized storage and compute management across multi‑region environments.
• Architect resilient micro‑services with strong consistency, fault tolerance, high availability and low latency at petabyte scale.
• Embed security best practices and improve platform supportability and observability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate external systems and drive automation.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale backend systems and micro‑services.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consistency, fault tolerance and scalability.
• Hands‑on technical leadership with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Experience working in hybrid cloud environments.
