Backend Software Engineer – Java & AWS Migration

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join a high‑performing team that supports a platform used by millions of global customers. The role focuses on migrating legacy backend services into a modern AWS environment while delivering clean, maintainable Java code.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of moving 20+ legacy backend services to a new AWS account, targeting 3‑4 services per quarter.
• Write reusable, high‑quality Java (v17+) code using Spring Boot and implement robust Service‑to‑Service authentication.
• Own the full service lifecycle, including deployment, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production monitoring (DynamoDB/SQL).
• Balance rapid delivery with strong code craftsmanship and comprehensive test coverage.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of commercial experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
• Proven track record delivering AWS migrations, especially with DynamoDB and relational databases.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within cross‑functional Agile teams.
