Band 2/3 Phlebotomy Locum – Glasgow

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Phlebotomist to join a respected NHS hospital in Glasgow on a full‑time locum basis. The role involves providing high‑quality blood collection services across wards and outpatient settings, supporting patient care and laboratory processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and capillary blood sampling in line with hospital policies.
• Verify patient identity and correctly label all specimens.
• Deliver a compassionate, professional service to patients at all times.
• Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards.
• Accurately record and process samples for laboratory analysis.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical and laboratory staff.
• Manage workload efficiently during core working hours.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Phlebotomist, NHS experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and patient dignity.
• Up‑to‑date mandatory training or willingness to complete it.
