Band 3 Imaging Assistant – Whipps Cross Hospital

About the role

The Imaging Department at Whipps Cross Hospital is seeking a Band 3 Imaging Assistant to join a busy, multidisciplinary team supporting one of the busiest A&E departments in the country. You will work closely with radiographers and clinical staff to deliver safe, prompt, and high‑quality imaging services for in‑patients and out‑patients across a range of modalities.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, Fluoroscopy and General X‑Ray services.
• Prepare patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Schedule imaging work and coordinate patient transport with portering staff.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the department.
• Participate in a 24/7, 365‑day service and an extended 7‑day MRI service.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of a trained radiographer.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with clinical and portering teams.
• Commitment to adhering to local and national imaging guidelines.
