Band 4 Histology AP Locum – Glasgow

About the role

Vivid Healthcare are seeking an experienced Band 4 Histology Assistant Practitioner (AP) to work on a locum basis in Glasgow. This ongoing, full‑time role offers a competitive hourly rate of £15‑£25 and starts as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microtomy tasks, maintaining a minimum throughput of 25 tissue blocks per hour.
• Prepare and process histology specimens according to laboratory standards.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with HCPC regulations.
• Collaborate with senior consultants and laboratory staff to deliver high‑quality results.

Required profile

• Fully qualified BMS (Band 4) with at least 12 months recent experience in a UK hospital.
• Proven experience in microbiology and histology environments.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Ability to work on‑site in Glasgow on a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends if required.
