Band 5 Assistant Psychologist – Fixed Term (until Apr 2029)

About the role

The Ministry of Defence is recruiting a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist on a fixed‑term contract until 1 April 2029. The post is based at Royal Air Force Brize Norton, Carterton, Oxford (OX18 3LX) and will be part of the NHS mental‑health service supporting personnel and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assistant‑psychologist duties in line with NHS standards and RAF requirements.
• Contribute to the assessment, formulation and delivery of psychological interventions for service users.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support mental‑health outcomes.

Required profile

• Successful candidates must pass a criminal‑record check and meet the security check level required for work with government assets.
• Applicants must be able to complete the baseline personnel security standard checks.
• Registration on the NHS Jobs portal is required to submit an application.
