About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Nurse to join the Blood Borne Virus (BBV) service within Aberdeenshire Drug & Alcohol Services. The role focuses on improving access to BBV screening, prevention, treatment and care for people who use drugs and alcohol.
Key responsibilities
- Support established multidisciplinary teams delivering community drug and alcohol treatment.
- Work in partnership with local providers and agencies across North Aberdeenshire.
- Improve access to BBV screening, prevention, treatment and follow‑up care.
- Deliver recovery‑oriented support to clients recovering from addiction.
- Contribute to national priorities such as the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards and Scotland’s Preventing Harm, Promoting Recovery Strategy.
Required profile
- Motivated, compassionate and able to work collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and team‑working skills.
- Some experience working with individuals affected by drug or alcohol problems.
- Commitment to providing high‑quality care in a community setting.
