Band 5 Specialist School Nurse (Farnham)

About the role

The Band 5 Specialist School Nurse will lead healthcare provision for children and young people aged 2‑19 with severe, profound and multiple learning and physical difficulties in Farnham. You will work closely with school staff, families and external professionals to ensure safe, high‑quality, child‑centred nursing care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and review the health needs of each child, developing personalised care plans.
• Provide expert nursing care including medication administration, tracheostomy and PEG tube management.
• Deliver training, guidance and support to school staff, parents and carers on health‑related matters.
• Contribute to safeguarding processes and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and referrals.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Specialist Community Nurse (RSCN) qualification.
• Experience working with children and/or learning disabilities.
• Good understanding of community health services and ability to work autonomously.
• Strong communication skills with children, families and professionals.
