Band 5 Staff Nurse – Endoscopy (Royal Alexandra Hospital)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the busy Endoscopy service at Royal Alexandra Hospital. You will deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures in a dynamic day‑surgery environment, working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and person‑centred nursing care to patients attending for endoscopic procedures.
• Assess patient needs and plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based care in partnership with patients and the MDT.
• Provide physical, technical and emotional support to patients throughout their endoscopy journey.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with NMC and organisational standards.
• Contribute to a safe clinical environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Support and supervise junior staff, learners and healthcare support workers as required.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working across endoscopy rooms, recovery and other areas of the day surgery unit.

Required profile

• Registered Adult Nurse with a valid NMC registration (live UK pin).
• Ability to practise safely and effectively within professional, ethical and legal frameworks.
• Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development and reflective practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and manage competing priorities.
• Confidence in using clinical equipment and electronic patient record systems.
• Previous experience within endoscopy or day surgery is desirable.
