Band 5 Staff Nurse – Health Visiting (Part-time, Fixed-term)

About the role
We are seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Health Visiting Team on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis. Based at St Martins Hospital – Kempthorne House, you will work with children and families in Bath & North East Somerset, delivering preventative health care and supporting vulnerable households.
Key responsibilities
- Provide health‑visiting services in homes and community settings under the supervision of a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
- Identify, monitor and support vulnerable children and families, completing Family Health Needs assessments.
- Collaborate with Early Years services, children’s centres and other community partners.
- Promote infant feeding and parent‑infant relationships in line with Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
- Deliver support using the Solihull Foundation Approach and Five to Thrive trauma‑informed practice.
- Update the supervising health visitor on significant changes and maintain accurate records.
Required profile
- Registered with the NMC in a nursing field.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Knowledge of national and local children’s service and public‑health policy.
- Understanding of child development and a commitment to safeguarding.

What we offer
- Fixed‑term contract (12 months) – 22.5 hours per week.
- Salary between £32,073 and £39,043 per year.
