Band 5 Staff Nurse – Short Stay Ward (Newly Qualified)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the 22‑bed Short Stay Ward at Frimley Park Hospital. This newly qualified position offers the chance to work on a dynamic medical ward that admits patients directly from the Emergency Department and other acute pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to acutely unwell patients.
• Assist in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized care plans.
• Support safe and efficient discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Administer medications safely according to hospital protocols.
• Monitor patients for deterioration and escalate concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with junior staff, students and healthcare assistants.
• Contribute to infection prevention, hygiene standards and patient experience initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse with current (or pending) NMC registration.
• Open to newly qualified nurses graduating in September 2026.
• Desirable: degree‑level registration.
