About the role
The North Mersey Stroke Service is seeking an experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Dietitian to join its multidisciplinary team at Aintree Hospital. You will work within acute inpatient stroke care, supporting patients from emergency assessment through hyperacute treatment and rehabilitation.
Key responsibilities
- Provide nutrition assessment and intervention for stroke patients across the acute pathway.
- Collaborate with the stroke MDT, including doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
- Participate in service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise dietetic students and graduate dietitians, delivering leadership and mentorship.
- Contribute to local team meetings, safety governance and training programmes.
Required profile
- Qualified dietitian registered with the HCPC.
- Experience in an acute inpatient setting, preferably with stroke patients.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Interest in service development, audit and education.
Required skills
- Clinical nutrition assessment and management.
- Knowledge of stroke‑related nutritional needs.
- Ability to conduct audits and contribute to service improvement.
