Band 6 Children's Community Nurse (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a Band 6 Children’s Community Nurse to join HCRG Care Group on a part‑time basis (22.5 hours per week). The role combines specialist clinical care with leadership, delivering nursing support to children and young people with complex, life‑limiting or palliative health needs in their homes and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist nursing care, training, advice and education to children, families and carers at home and in community settings.
• Manage a caseload of children with complex needs such as tracheostomy, cardiac and respiratory monitoring, catheterisation, central lines and long‑term ventilation.
• Coordinate with statutory and voluntary agencies to improve outcomes, reduce hospital admissions and empower families.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional guidelines.

Required profile

• Registered Children’s Nurse or registered nurse with relevant clinical experience and current NMC registration.
• Proven experience working with children who have complex, life‑limiting or palliative care needs.
• Ability to assess, prioritise and manage a diverse caseload independently.
• Strong collaborative skills within multi‑disciplinary inter‑agency teams.
• Commitment to client‑centred practice and continuous professional reflection.
