Band 6 Nurse Specialist – ADHD (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 6 Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary ADHD and Autism team. The role involves delivering ADHD assessments, diagnosing, and, where appropriate, prescribing and monitoring medication for children and young people.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments for children and young people.
• Collaborate with families, schools and other agencies to gather relevant information.
• Diagnose ADHD according to established criteria and develop individualized care plans.
• Prescribe, dispense and monitor ADHD medication in line with clinical guidelines.
• Work alongside specialist nurses, consultant psychiatrists, assistant practitioners and clinical support workers.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to multidisciplinary case reviews.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with a keen interest in child and adolescent mental health.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, able to work autonomously.
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively and manage a part‑time schedule (22.5 hrs/week).
