Band 7 Mortuary Technician – NHS Agency Role

About the role

Vivid Healthcare is recruiting an experienced Band 7 Mortuary Technician to join a busy NHS mortuary service on a full‑time temporary contract. The role involves supporting post‑mortem examinations and maintaining a dignified mortuary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out hospital post‑mortem examinations and assist during procedures.
• Receive, identify and release deceased patients in line with Trust policies.
• Maintain accurate mortuary documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with HTA legislation and infection‑prevention procedures.
• Support day‑to‑day mortuary operations and uphold a respectful environment.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology or NVQ Level 3 in Anatomical Pathology Technology.
• Previous NHS mortuary technician experience.
• Competence in performing post‑mortem examinations.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, HTA regulations and infection control.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS.
