About the role

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a qualified chef to work in its Sulham facility, delivering high‑quality, nutritious meals for residents. This full‑time, flexible position offers a balanced work‑life schedule without split shifts, allowing you to focus on seasonal, fresh food preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in designing balanced, flavourful menus tailored to resident preferences.
• Prepare fresh, seasonal dishes to the highest hospitality standards.
• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
• Maintain budgetary controls, conduct regular audits, and oversee stock control.
• Support a warm, efficient, and enjoyable kitchen environment.

Required profile

• Qualified chef holding City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent certification.
• Passionate about resident wellbeing and person‑centred hospitality.
• Experience leading and motivating a kitchen team.
• Good understanding of nutrition and fresh seasonal produce.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge and compliance.
• Budget management and stock control.
• Ability to create nutritious, balanced menus.
