About the role

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in designing nutritious, flavourful menus tailored to residents' needs.
• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
• Prepare fresh produce and deliver high‑quality dishes in line with HACCP standards.
• Maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Work within budgetary constraints and complete regular audits.
• Control stock levels and manage inventory.
• Support and motivate the kitchen team.

Required profile

• Personable, warm approach with genuine interest in residents’ wellbeing.
• City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent culinary qualification.
• Experience leading and inspiring a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition and fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a welcoming environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles.
