Bank Cook – Care Home (Taunton)

About the role

We are looking for a Bank Cook to join Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home in Taunton. You will prepare nutritious, high‑quality meals for residents with complex health needs, following individual dietary requirements and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs, including specialist and modified diets.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Support menu planning using fresh ingredients to ensure a varied and balanced diet.
• Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and running efficiently.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure meals enhance residents’ wellbeing.

Required profile

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food‑preparation role.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Awareness of dietary requirements, especially specialist diets (beneficial).
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, reliable attitude.
