About the role
This casual, part‑time position provides flexible cover in the kitchen of a Barchester care home. You will help deliver nutritious meals and a pleasant dining experience for residents, supporting the home’s high standards of hospitality.
Key responsibilities
- Provide cover for planned or unplanned staff absences in the kitchen.
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements and quality standards.
- Assist with setting up dining areas and serving residents.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment and work surfaces.
- Collaborate with kitchen and care staff to ensure smooth service.
Required profile
- Reliable, considerate and caring attitude.
- Flexible availability to work varied shifts.
- Willingness to follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
- No formal qualifications required; experience in a commercial or care‑home kitchen is a plus.
