Bank Second Chef – Care Home (Part‑time/Flexible)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Second Chef to join our bank team on a flexible, part‑time basis. You will support the Head Chef in delivering hotel‑standard meals for our residents, focusing on fresh, seasonal produce and personalised menus.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Assist with menu development and creation of nutritious, balanced dishes.
• Work with fresh seasonal produce to maintain high culinary standards.
• Maintain a warm, welcoming environment for residents and staff.
• Operate within budget, conduct regular audits and manage stock control.
• Support and motivate the kitchen team.

Required profile

• Personable, warm approach with genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
• City & Guilds, NVQ or SVQ (or equivalent) culinary qualification.
• Experience leading and inspiring a kitchen team.
• Good understanding of nutrition and fresh seasonal food.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP principles.
