Bank Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a Bank Support Worker to join Cygnet’s Taunton site, providing care on acute male or female wards, a learning disability ward, or the new neuro‑cognitive service. The role is on a bank contract and offers a competitive rate of £13 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred care and support to service users, encouraging independence.
• Assist with physical and emotional needs, including helping with daily activities and welfare tasks.
• Support medical and safety procedures, report observations and safeguard vulnerable individuals.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment on the ward.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and follow guidance from senior staff.

Required profile

• Genuine desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Sensitive, intuitive and able to provide a trusting and stimulating environment.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
