Bank Support Worker – Learning Disabilities

About the role
Southdown is seeking compassionate Bank Support Workers to join its Magdalene Court service in Midhurst. You will help adults with learning disabilities live full, independent lives by supporting daily activities and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, cooking, cleaning and other daily tasks.
- Encourage participation in community outings such as beach walks, cinema visits, shopping and café trips.
- Support clients in using communal areas and promote social interaction.
- Follow health, safety and safeguarding procedures, including moving and handling and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the care team.
Required profile
- Patient, empathetic mindset with a genuine desire to help.
- Willingness to complete training in health and social care, moving and handling, safeguarding and risk management.
- Comfort with providing intimate personal care.
- Residence within reasonable commuting distance to Magdalene Court or willingness to relocate.
- Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
Required skills
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
What we offer
- Hourly rate of £13.45 plus holiday pay of £1.62 (total £15.07 per hour).
