Banking Principal Associate – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking a Banking Principal Associate to join a leading UK law firm’s Leeds office. The successful candidate will work on a broad portfolio of complex finance transactions, collaborating with senior partners and contributing to business development across a national practice.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on leveraged finance, corporate finance and growth lending transactions.
• Draft and negotiate facility agreements, security documents and intercreditor agreements, including both LMA and non‑LMA documentation.
• Manage matters throughout the full transaction lifecycle, from instruction to completion.
• Work on restructurings, refinancings, bolt‑on transactions and cross‑practice matters with corporate and restructuring teams.
• Supervise junior lawyers and take ownership of your own caseload.
• Develop and maintain long‑term client relationships and support business‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 6 years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in leveraged finance and general banking matters.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.

Required skills

• Experience drafting and negotiating finance documentation, including LMA and non‑LMA agreements.
• Familiarity with leveraged finance structures, restructurings and refinancing transactions.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £90,000 and £95,000 per annum.
