Bar Staff – Hospitality Role

About the role

Join the team at The Wheatsheaf as a Bar Staff member, delivering friendly service in a busy pub environment. No prior experience is required – we provide full training so you can develop the skills needed to succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Take customer orders and serve drinks and food to the correct specification.
• Prepare and dispense beverages, both at the bar and via the customer app.
• Deliver food to tables, check back with guests, and clear plates promptly.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and ‘clean as you go’ hygiene throughout the venue.
• Perform supporting duties such as glass‑washing, restocking fridges, floor and beer‑garden clearing, and occasional toilet checks.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, reliable and friendly with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced team and handling pressure calmly.
• Willingness to learn and follow training programmes.

Required skills

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining service quality.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills.
• Basic numeracy for handling orders and payments.

• Competitive hourly rate of £12.81 (plus £1 extra per hour for midnight‑5:59 am shifts).
