Beauty Editor, Vogue Business

About the role

Condé Nast is looking for a Beauty Editor to lead Vogue Business's beauty coverage, based in London. The editor reports to the Features Director and works closely with the whole editorial team. The role covers M&A activity, notable brands, key global markets and the product, consumer and marketing trends shaping the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the weekly Beauty Edit newsletter: plan content, compile data and write the editor's letter
• Write at least two stories a week on emerging beauty trends, switching to breaking news when needed
• Interview CEOs, CMOs, founders and executives of major beauty brands, startups and conglomerates
• Write investigative, long-form articles on broader industry topics
• Build and maintain sources across the industry and maintain a pool of freelancers
• Source images, video and charts for the website and social platforms
• Help build new formats and series, and host forums, podcasts and events with industry figures
• Contribute to dual byline stories and work across fashion, sustainability and tech when required

Required profile

• Journalist with a track record of reporting for a professional or business audience
• Experience in digital editorial operations or business reporting, able to write about the beauty industry for an informed professional audience
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a dynamic digital newsroom
• Ability to juggle next-day news with longer-format articles
• Knowledge of the beauty industry, including small brands, luxury conglomerates, PRs and agencies
• Fluency in a second language is a plus

Required skills

• Experience with digital tools, including CMS and newsletter platforms
• Maintaining a network of contacts, including C-level executives and freelance writers
