About the role
We are seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour & Learning Support Assistant to join a Primary PRU in Ferryhill. You will work directly with pupils who need consistent, calm guidance to manage challenging behaviour and engage positively with learning.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils
- Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours
- Encourage pupil engagement with learning activities
- Assist pupils in developing social and emotional skills
- Act as a positive role model within the setting
Required profile
- Experience in a PRU, SEND school, youth work, care, coaching or similar support role
- Excellent communication abilities
- Strong behaviour management strategies
- High levels of patience and resilience

What we offer
- Temporary contract with the possibility of permanent placement
- Day rate between £92.65 and £110 inclusive of statutory holiday pay
