Behaviour Mentor

About the role

New Chapter Tuition Ltd is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist vocational education provision. Working with learners aged KS3‑KS5 who have SEMH, ADHD, SEND or trauma‑related needs, you will help rebuild confidence and re‑engage them in education through hands‑on vocational learning.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with individual learners and small groups (up to 8).
• Deliver engaging vocational lessons and support learners on a 1:1 basis.
• Apply de‑escalation and positive behaviour management techniques.
• Create a calm, structured, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience working with children and young people, especially those with SEMH, SEND or trauma.
• Background in Armed Forces, Cadet Forces, alternative provision, youth work or behaviour mentoring.
• Strong communication, empathy and resilience.
• Passion for improving learner outcomes and supporting independence.

• Salary £21,731 – £24,195.50 per year plus up to £2,500 performance bonus.
