Behaviour Mentor

About the role

This temporary, full‑time position supports a welcoming secondary school in London. The Behaviour Mentor will work directly with pupils to remove barriers to learning, improve conduct, and foster resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with behavioural, social, emotional, or pastoral needs.
• Build trusting relationships, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
• Assist pupils in managing their behaviour and engagement both inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral leaders, the SEN department, and families to implement effective interventions.
• Monitor attendance, progress, and behaviour, delivering regular feedback to staff.
• Promote confidence, self‑esteem, and resilience while supporting students during periods of emotional dysregulation.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑aged students.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
