Behaviour Mentor – Primary School (East London)

About the role

We are seeking a confident Behaviour Mentor to work in a welcoming primary school in East London. The role focuses on supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD and other behavioural challenges, helping them thrive academically and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group behaviour support to pupils.
• Build trusting relationships and promote positive engagement.
• Implement and monitor behaviour strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Assist pupils in regulating emotions and developing social skills.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably supporting challenging behaviour or SEMH.
• Calm, resilient and patient approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Open to graduates, youth workers, sports coaches and mentors.

Required skills

• Ability to apply behaviour management techniques.
• Understanding of SEMH, autism spectrum conditions and ADHD.
