About the role

The Behaviour Mentor will join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Slough, providing dedicated support to pupils who need help managing their behaviour and emotions. This full‑time position starts in September and is ideal for graduates or aspiring psychologists seeking practical experience in an educational setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils requiring additional behavioural guidance.
• Help children recognise, understand and regulate their emotions.
• Apply positive behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques.
• Assist class teachers in creating a calm, positive and engaging learning environment.
• Build constructive relationships with pupils, staff and families to ensure consistent support.
• Collaborate with the SEN team to implement tailored behaviour support plans.

Required profile

• Graduate or aspiring psychologist, teacher, counsellor or child‑development professional.
• Patient, resilient nature with a genuine passion for helping children reach their potential.
• Ability to work effectively within a school team and communicate with families.
