Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a resilient and proactive Behaviour Mentor to support pupils aged 11‑16 in a secondary school in Southwark. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND department, you will provide targeted 1:1 and small‑group interventions to help students manage behaviour and emotional challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised behaviour support for pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs.
• Implement and monitor individual behaviour support plans.
• Use de‑escalation techniques and promote emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with teaching, pastoral and SEND teams to ensure consistent support.
• Act as a positive role model, encouraging attendance, resilience and positive conduct throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting pupils with behavioural or emotional needs.
• Experience in a secondary school, PRU or alternative provision is desirable.
• Confidence in behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.
• Availability for a full‑time, immediate‑start position.
