About the role
Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in a mainstream secondary school in Newham. The role provides one‑to‑one support for a student with complex emotional and academic needs throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 support to a student with challenging behaviour and emotional needs.
- Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent manner.
- Supervise the student across all school activities, ensuring safety and positive engagement.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for the whole class.
Required profile
- Previous experience in SEN or behaviour support.
- Proven ability to work with challenging behaviour.
- Team Teach training (desirable) and safeguarding training (desirable, can be provided).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Two professional references.
Required skills
What we offer
- Full‑time contract for the academic year (8:30 am – 3:30 pm).
- Day rate between £100 and £160.
