Behaviour Mentor – Support Students with SEMH Needs

About the role

We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist secondary school in Enfield that supports students aged 11‑19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This full‑time, term‑time position offers a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students with SEMH, SEND, Autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour.
• Build positive relationships to improve engagement, confidence and behaviour.
• Support students during lessons and around the school, promoting independence and resilience.
• Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to help students achieve personal and academic goals.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and self‑confidence.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting individuals with SEMH, SEND, Autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour (desirable).
• Patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about helping young people reach their full potential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
