Behaviour Mentor – Supporting Pupils in Bromley

About the role

Do you have a passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking confident, resilient and empathetic Behaviour Mentors to work across primary and secondary schools in the London Borough of Bromley. This flexible, rewarding position is ideal for candidates with experience in youth work, pastoral support, SEND or behaviour management.

Key responsibilities

• Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who have social, emotional or behavioural needs.
• De‑escalate incidents calmly and professionally, using restorative approaches where appropriate.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SENCOs to implement behaviour strategies.
• Model positive behaviour and build trusting relationships with young people.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs in education, youth work or care settings.
• Calm, confident and positive under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive, empathetic and firm‑but‑fair approach.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
• Right to work in the UK.
