Behaviour Support Assistant – Full‑Time (Temp)

About the role

A school in Old Trafford is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work closely with pupils who need extra help managing their behaviour and staying engaged in learning. The role is full‑time, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm, and provides hands‑on support in the classroom and during breaks.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 or small‑group basis, implementing the school’s behaviour strategies.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and re‑engage with lessons.
• Assist teachers in maintaining a calm, productive classroom environment.
• Provide support during break and lunch to promote positive interactions.

Required profile

• Experience or interest in supporting pupils with behavioural needs.
• Patience, consistency and strong relationship‑building abilities.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Ability to implement behaviour management strategies.
• Effective communication with pupils and staff.
