Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary School (Lambeth)

About the role

The school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join the team from September 2026. You will work closely with pupils who need additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them engage positively with learning and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group behaviour support for students.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage participation.
• Support social, emotional and behavioural needs both inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and SEN professionals to implement support strategies.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour in line with school policies.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching or a similar setting.
• Calm, resilient and proactive approach.
• Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
