Behaviour Support Specialist – SEMH Schools (Bristol)

About the role

We are looking for a Behaviour Support Specialist to work across SEMH schools in Bristol. You will provide hands‑on support to pupils who need structure, consistency and calm guidance, both one‑to‑one and in small groups.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clear structure, boundaries and expectations in the classroom.
• Support pupils to regulate their behaviour and stay engaged with learning.
• De‑escalate challenging situations calmly and confidently.
• Build trust and act as a consistent, positive role model for disengaged students.
• Collaborate with pastoral and behaviour teams to deliver consistent support.

Required profile

• Confident in managing behaviour and setting boundaries.
• Calm under pressure and able to separate personal feelings from pupil behaviour.
• Experience in fast‑paced or high‑challenge environments such as SEN, youth work or sports coaching.
• Ability to build respect and rapport with young people.
• Desire to make a genuine impact on outcomes.
