Behaviour Therapy Assistant (SEMH School)

About the role
This full‑time position supports children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs in a specialist school. You will work directly with pupils, helping them make positive choices, develop safe behaviours and build emotional resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils who display challenging or anti‑social behaviours linked to SEMH needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver behaviour‑management and re‑engagement strategies.
- Provide emotional support to at‑risk children, assisting them with personal and academic challenges.
- Build trusting relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and progress.
- Approach all tasks with empathy, patience and a positive attitude.
Required profile
- Graduate‑friendly or entry‑level candidate with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Empathetic, patient and able to maintain a positive outlook.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with pupils and staff.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills are required; a caring attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
