Behavioural Support Assistant – Term Time (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Behavioural Support Assistants to work on a term‑time basis with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This role offers hands‑on experience in a supportive school environment and is ideal for anyone looking to build a career in education, youth work or mental health support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour plans and emotional regulation strategies.
• Support teachers in maintaining a calm, structured learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, resilience and progress.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in supporting young people with SEMH needs.
• Patient, calm and proactive approach.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and provide professional references.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Training or experience in behaviour management techniques.
• Manual handling training (preferred).
